  • Physical Damage: Physical damage insurance includes both collision and comprehensive coverage, so the cost of repairing or replacing your trucks is covered whether they’re damaged because of a crash or from other dangers such as theft, fire or vandalism.
  • Excess Liability: Excess liability insurance, commonly called umbrella insurance, protects you from losses that go above your policy’s limit. For example, if one of your truckers was at fault in an accident that caused $300,000 of damage, and your policy’s limit was $200,000, excess liability coverage would save you from having the pay the remaining $100,000 out of pocket.
  • Motor Truck Cargo: It’s a good idea to insure your inventory the same way you do your trucks and employees. Motor truck cargo insurance covers the cost of your cargo being lost or damaged in a collision or fire.
  • Owner Operators: If you are an independent trucker who owns your own business, your insurance needs are different than those of a large trucking company with several employees.
